not sweat

The photo of Madge doing the splits is the latest image of the superstar showing off her enviable figure and fitness levels to promote her gym, Hard Candy Fitness.

Madonna wrote: ‘Check out my dance workout from Toronto HC gym opening!’ She added: ‘I dare you to watch and not sweat! @hardcandyfitness #gohardorgohome’

I think the phrase here is related to the contexts, but I can't read between the lines. Could you tell me what it means?

In my opinion, it should be 'I dare you to watch and sweat!' if this sentence gets the meaning as you have said. Why is there a negation here? If it's a grammar problem, could you show me more examples of this pattern?

The challenge is to watch it and not sweat.

I challenge you to eat a doughnut and lick your lips. That is not a challenge because it is easy and natural to lick your lips when eating a doughnut. Everybody does it.

I challenge you to eat a doughnut and not lick your lips. Now that is a challenge.

Hello, sir. You have answered a lot of my questions on this website. So I think you are a kindhearted man who maybe is passionate about English education. Have you ever heard the name Stephen D. Krashen? He's a famous American linguist and educator. Alternatively, do you know any articles or books about ESL?

Me or 5jj?

I know Krashen's books well and subscribe to his general theories of language acquisition. 'The Natural Approach' and 'Principles & Practice in 2nd Language Acquisition' are classics and make for thoughful reading.

Another—and different—approach that I find compelling is Michael Lewis's 'The Le

So, sir, do you have an experience of a second language learning? In China, every time I asked my teacher or other advanced learner, then each one of them told me that every one has his own method. But, if I asked them what your methods are? They will say listening to VOA or reciting the articles of New Concept English( maybe any other materials ) unanimously. Generally speaking, their methods ar

I hope you mean 'roting' (rote memorization)! No, those are antiquated and generally considered ineffective except for limited situations (e.g. learning FANBOYS for the coordinating conjunctions). Much vocabulary must be memorized, of course, if you live in a non-English-speaking country, but the

OK, got it. By the way, I think that you have seen a lot of my texts on this website. How do you feel like my expression? I mean a perception form a linguistic perspective. Is it terse or verbose? Should I condense my words or it's just OK?
