Not sure these are correct? Opinion please

Is it natural to say 'nice in doing something' or 'rude in doing something'?

Some of the employers were nice in explaining why they didn't want to hire her others were rude in explaining why.

Is this sentence grammatical and natural? Would you write it differently?
It takes me the time it takes you to do 3 to do 5.

Thank you
