Not sure if "where" is correct

Is "where" correct and sound good in this sentence or should I use another word?
Though gravely wounded, Dalamar successfully returned from his mission, where he had discovered that the physical aspect of Chaos had a weakness that could be exploited with the help of the Graygem, which Palin, Usha, the mysterious dwarf Dougan Redhammer, and Tasslehoff had retrieved.
