Not so messy as mine

I would like to know if this sentence is correct:

Your room is not so messy as mine.

Or should it be : Your room is not as messy as mine.

as is used in positive statements. I'd go with the second sentence (your room isn't as messy as mine), but I think both are fine here. Regards

The structure so...as is commonly used in negative statements, whereas the structure as...as is used

in positive statements. I'd go with the second sentence (your room isn't as messy as mine), but I think both are fine here.
