Not simply

Hello everybody.

What does not simply mean in the following? Would you please help me?

It is all I can do not simply carry on walking. I just need to talk to Tania.

Does it mean all I can do is not walking, I need to talk...?

Thanks so much for the help ??.

I'm sorry to say that it doesn't make much sense as written, but I think it's trying to say I can't just keep walking. I have to talk to Tania. I could be wrong.
