Not (or just slightly offensive) synonyms for "dumbbell"?

Hello,

What less hurtful adjective can you use to say that a writing or clip is a dumbbell mixture of misinformation and dilettantism? (Which are the least offensive ones?)

'Misinformation' and 'dilettantism' are hurtful and offensive words, no matter what adjective you use. That's why I suggested a parap

In the UK we use the phrase "dumbed down" to mean something that seems to have been produced, patronisingly, for an audience..

- What did you think of the play last night?

- I was bored: wasn't it rather dumbed down?
