not only...but also

Are all three acceptable? Which do you prefer? Thanks

a. Not only is it unhealthy to eat too much salt, but also it tastes bad.

b. Not only is it unhealthy to eat too much salt, but it tastes bad too.

c. Not only is it unhealthy to eat too much salt, but it tastes bad.

Top answer

I’m not particularly crazy about any of them, especially C, so I have no strong preference. For a more parallel structure, try Not only is too much salt unhealthy but also distasteful or Too much salt is not only unhealthful but also distasteful.
