Not (nouns) any less than

1)A whale is no less a mammal than a house is.

Is it possible to paraphase:

2)A whale is not a mammal any less than a house is.


If it ispossible,which one is more natural or common expression?

I can't decide. They are both the same for all practical purposes. I think I would use the first one if it came up in a conversation.
