Not foolish to

Are these sentences correct:

1) I am not foolish to trust him.

2) I am not a fool to trust him.


Do they mean:

a. It is true that I trust him, but that doesn't mean I am foolish/a fool.

or:

b. I don't trust him. It would be foolish of me to do that.
