Not exactly a guess.

I recently read an article online that used the phrase "estimate approximate values". This piqued my curiosity as I believe the use of approximate or approximately to be an unnecessary addition to estimates, as an estimate already assumes an approximate calculation by definition. As I suspected a Google search for "estimate approximately" shows quite a few examples of this being used in many different forms of writing from technical papers to general gabby blogs. Now, this begs the question, is "estimate approximate" redundant?
