I find it hard to understand what is meant by this remark.

When I first read it I thought "the bow" meant "the bow as a weapon, in general"; in other words, he's saying Robin will, in a figurative way "make the shot" (i.e. will make his mark, be an important person) but it won't be through the use of the bow and arrow. However, since he actually went on to become an expert archer, I'm no
