Could you tell me which sentence should be used in the scenario below:
A teacher checks one of his students' papers and writes a note: "Q5 not attempted". My question is which of the following sentences would best make the full version of the teacher's sentence?
1: Q5 was not attempted.
2: Q5 has not been attempted.
3: Q5 is not attempted(or is unattempted) Is there a difference between the two?
Or what about this one:
Q5 remains unattempted. (Is it correct?)

Is the note intended for the student to read? If so, it would be more natural to write eg You didn't answer Q5. unattempted / not attempted >>> no real difference.
