Some folks suffer someone saying the sentence below is wrong, and so do I.

The wind was not so strong as to prevent us from sky-diving..


Could you please tell me?

well, technically it's OK but I would not say it that way. I would say: The wind is not strong enough to prevent us from going sky-diving. The wind is not strong enough to preclude (rule out) sky-diving.

well, technically it's OK but I would not say it that way. I would say:

The wind is not strong enough to prevent us from going sky-diving.
The wind is not strong enough to preclude (rule out) sky-diving.
