Grammar

Not as conjunction

Can anyone proofread this sentence? (it's about programming)

TRUE, FALSE, “TRUE”, and “FALSE” can be used as Booleans. Keep in mind that if they are being used as such, they should only be compared with other Booleans, not with other types.

I'm especially worried about the ", not" at the end. Is it a comma splice or not, and why?

If there's a better way to phrase it, I'd ALSO like to know about it.
