Q1. Which one does "musical background" mean "background in music" or "background in musical"?

How can you clearly say it when you want to say either one?

Q2. Is "music historical background" correct to mean "background in music history"?

It means growing up with music or experience with music.

If you want to refer to a performer who has been in a lot of musicals, than say "background in musicals" and not "musical background." This would be far, far less commonly said than "musical background."
