Hi,

Which answer is better?

- Would you like some coffee?

1. - None for me.
2.- Not for me.

Both are OK. If you want to make these answers better, say 'thank you' at the end. You probably know that that is important.

Thank you for the reply.

Could you explain the difference between these sentances?

1. None for me.
2. Not for me.

1. None for me. The negation is in the pronoun. You negate (wanting) the object.

2. Not for me. The negation is in the verb. You negate the action of giving the object to you.

Not instead of "None for me," but e.g.:

Wine, beer?
Nothing for me, please.

Hi,

Can I say "Nothing for me" instead of "None for me"? Yes, but usually in response to a more general question. eg

A: Would you like some tea?

B: None for me, than you.

A: Would you like something to drink?

B: Nothing for me, thank you.

Best wishes, Clive

No, thanks.

Not for me is good, too, if I have to choose between those two.
