non progressive verbs

Hi:)

I have found a web page with the non progressive verbs.
There are verbs like "cost, want, be" which have another meaning in the continous form, but they are usually used in the simple present.

Can anyone explain me what the difference between "cost" and "costing" and "want"/"wanting" and "be "/"being" is. Thanks a lot.
