Non-native needs some help :)

Hello, I am trying to translate the following sentence and need some help in understanding if "its violation and resolution" refers to "scientific presumptions" or "corporeal integrity".

"Just as underlying scientific presumptions about corporeal integrity, and its violation and resolution, inform forensic efforts to isolate and identify individual sets of remains from larger commingled assemblages, the social value placed on integrity depends on the community that has experienced the loss of life—namely, the surviving mourners."

Thank you!

  • its is singular, and presumptions is plural, so its violation and resolution can't be about that.
  • It has to be about corporeal integrity , which is singular.
