non-members

The participation in a certain committee of a Company used to be restricted to Board of Directors members. In other words, just Directors were eligible to be Committee’s members.

That has changed, and I want to explain it in a short sentence.

Would the following be correct?

“ ...they approved a change to bylaws that allows non Board of Directors members to be members of the committee”

Thank you,
