Have I got nominalisation correct from this text? I have put it in capital letters.
A World Without electricity would be a world without computers, phones, lights, TV, radio, and many others. And it would be very dark in the streets at night as there would be no street lamps and many accidents would occur from cars having no lights at night (if we found an ALTERNATIVE to electric car batteries of course!) We would probably not have planes because we wouldn’t have computer navigating systems and we wouldn’t have radar either. Computer games consoles wouldn’t exist, people couldn’t type things on computers (like I am now) or use computers for work. Can you imagine it? Computers not existing would mean no way of storing data and everything would be in paper, cameras wouldn’t exist, and of course, there would be no internet!!! People would probably cook their food on open fires and most food would be HOMEMADE. There wouldn’t be any factories to MASS PRODUCE things like processed food, ready meals, metal cans, plastic wrapping, and lots of other stuff. This would mean there would be less fizzy drinks, canned food, sweets, ready-made food, and most shops would probably make their products by hand. They wouldn’t have any fridges or freezers as they use electricity and food like meat would have to be salted to be preserved and other food, like bread, would have to be stored in a pantry. And how would we travel? We would probably not have any planes but we might still have air ships as an ALTERNATIVE to planes and our trains would all still be STEAM POWERED. But over the last 100 years of no electricity, steam trains and airships would have probably been improved a fair amount, such as NAVIGATING SYSTEMS for airships and faster steam trains. We may still have cars but they would probably be wound up by hand like they were when people invented them years ago. For ENTERTAINMENT people would probably read lots more books and play lots more instruments. There would be a ton of live acoustic instruments but there would be no rock and roll! There may well be a cinema, just instead of using electricity to project the film it would have a man turning a handle, or a donkey walking in circles outside! We would have more artists and with the lack of TV, video game consoles, and computers children would go outside a lot more and get a lot more exercise. So that would probably be healthier. So, all in all, the world would probably be a much greener place without electricity as people would travel by car less and we wouldn’t have factories pumping Co2 into the air and it would be a very STEAM ENGINE STYLE WORLD where there wouldn’t be any food from other countries due to TRANSPORTATION being harder and our cinemas would be donkey powered! But, while we’d have a lack of items that we use in everyday life, the world would be a very clean, steamy, healthy place. So we should try using less electricity!
Thanks!
