Nobody

Can one use:
1) He can marry nobody.
instead of:
1a) He can't marry anybody.

Can one use:
2) He can go nowhere.
instead of:
2a) He can't go anywhere.

It seems to me that '1' and '2' are not incorrect, but they are informal. They seem to be very emphatic too.
