Nobody?

When you ask a question to a group of people and not being able to get an instant response, is it proper way of English to ask "Nobody?" to urge the answer to come out?
I really felt awkward when I heard this. But my colleague insisted on using it saying that when you want to emphasize "Anybody?", you use "Nobody?".

If it is "Nobody here has an answer?", I understand.
