I'm comfortable with MrM's assessment of "noble art," but as an aside, I'm uncomfortable with the transformation of the material into the art.
I'd say the used paper is transformed by the artist into a noble work of art.

You could also skip the article, and say the used paper is transformed into noble art.
Noble art is a stuff, not a thing.
"Art" can be both the process and the product, both uncountable.
As a countable, we'd say that teaching is one art and painting is another.
You can say a particular item is or isn't art.
I don't believe you can say it is or isn't an art.
