This is obviously a generalization, and as such it is completely inaccurate. Perhaps you are referring to your immediate circle of friends. You might try to be like them, to fit in better with the group. You might try to write English in a manner consistent with educated people. You might try both. When you write informally with your friends, you might adopt the fun (?) style of leaving out punctuation marks, and when you write with others you might show that you have an education and an understanding of how to write English.
