No one

Hi,

I have two questions about "no one."

1) In this case, can I use "no one" as well as "none"?

Kate is friendly. She has many friends to help her.

John is selfish. He has none. (He has no one.)

2) I have only seen "no one" as subject. ???No one knows the truth.

But can I use "no one" as object?

It's difficult for me.

no one and none are somewhat different. You can't always use one when you mean the other. There are cases, however, where both can be used because the meaning is similar.
