No more a home than a body without a soul is a man

What does the following sentence mean?

Don't you think that 'not' is needed after 'without a soul is'?

I think the structure of ' no more... than' makes me confused.

I also wonder if that kind of pattern is often used.

*A home without love is no more a home than a body without a soul is a man. *

Thanks in advance.

How much is a body without a soul a man? Not at all. Zero.

How much is a home without love a (real) home? No more than how much a body without a soul is a man. That is, not more than zero.

The meaning is thus: A home without love is not a (real) home at all.

Thanks, CJ.
One more question has just entered my head..
Is it possible to use ' no less' instead of ' no more' in that sentence?

No. Not in that sentence. Google "no less a * than" (in quotes as shown) to find examples of how "no less" is used.
