What's the difference of these two answers when you are asked this question:
How many children do you have?
1. I do not have any children.
2. I have no children.
Is it correct to answer the question with answer 1. What's the semantic difference of these two answers/sentences. It is my understanding that "any" is used in negative sentences. Please enlighten me.

That sound so antiquated, like something from a Victorian novel of the mid-nineteenth century.

This is technically correct, but it's not quite right for conversation. Say I don't have any children.
Similarly,
I don't have any
paper, pencils, nice clothes, sugar, plans, ...
apatzinguense2. I have no children.
That could
