no better than

Hello, teachers.

>We are no better than our last solution and therefore work constantly to improve quality, durability, user-friendliness and not least whole life-cycle costs.

I don't understand what "we are not better than our last solution" means in this context.
Could you help me?

Anonymous We are no better than our last solution Hmm. I thought you would be able to work this one out just from the words used. We are only as [good / smart / clever / talented / skilled] as we were when we solved our most recent problem.

We are only as [good / smart / clever / talented / skilled] as we were when we solved our most recent problem. (We want to become better.)

Thank you, CalifJim!

This is from a company brochure.
I thought it was odd to advertise that they have not improved from their last solution. Don't you think so?

It's intended to be a more general statement than that. It's saying that no one can stop improving, no matter how good they already are.
