Hi...I have some problems while I was reading a book.
I know when we are talking things in gereral ,such as friend, we will put a s to mean "friends that we have"
e.g) I have no friends
But, I want to ask... see below:
I have no apple .
No muffin today (today I won't eat muffin.)
No train will be there.
Should we put a 's' before these noun?
I really don't understand....
[ Sorry for my poor english...hope you can understand what I mean. Thanks in advance]
As far as I understand, you are interested in the number of nouns following no. Both singular and plural are correct but no doubt there are many cases in which one or the other is more idiomatic. I have no book / books.

Dave PhillipsNo + NOUNS as you are using them are really just used on signs.Googling for "have no apples" gives about 192,000 hits. I took a look at some of them, and, natural or not, they were written by native speakers.
