Ninja Star Danger jock

Hello.

In tv show "how i met your mother" everyone's laughing at Marshall's " nightgown"

Marshall says:It's a nightshirt.

And Barney answers You can call it a Ninja Star Danger Jock if you want.

Doesn't make you any less of a cross-dresser.

What does Barney mean? To me Ninja Star Danger Jock is just a meaningless word sequence.

I don't get it. What does Jock mean here? Danger - what is it about?

Please, help me figure it out. It's obviously supposed to be funny

Thank you very much

A "nightgown" is something a woman would wear to sleep in, not a man. Barney makes up some words that are very manly and masculine. He is saying that no matter what you call it, this nightgown still a piece of woman's clothing.

Ninja, of course, is the legendary Japanese warrior (usually dressed all in black); star is the hero, or the lead player; danger implies ferociousness; jock is an American term for an athlete, the word stems for a slang term for the piece a male athlete (a jock) wears for pr
