nihilisation

hi every body , what does it mean 'nihilisation' in this paragraph?

It could be argued that the 'thinginess' of the material world may be resistant to language and signification, and may be independent of these. (That is central to the enterprise of Samuel Beckett's nihilisation of language and radio's features in his radio plays, and some of postmodernist performance dance, to give a current postmodernist example.)

Top answer

It means that Samuel Beckett asserts that language is meaningless or unnecessary to qualify material things. It would be interesting to me to hear a radio play by someone who believes language is irrelevant.
