Night Watch

In my opinion, the Russian movie "Night Watch" is aimed at a certain audience. It is too specific. I can tell that it is not my cup of tea. The film is extremely dim and gloomy.

Could anyone tell me the core of the movie? As far as i am concerned there is no much sense in it.

I can tell you for sure that there are other Russian movies that are really worth watching.

I agree that the movie for certain audience. but I was dizzy how many people watched that one.(The book "Night Watch" is more interesting). Thanks "Night Watch" russian cinema moved from "dead centre". I think the core of the film is "good not always well".

And I'm sure Russia has and will has really great movies.

As for me, I didn't like this film, because it has a lot of violence and it's dark, both in literal and figurative meaning. Of specific audience... If a movie's base is a book, not only a script, I prefer to read this book first. So I waited for long time to get and read the book "Nigh Watch", though I had got the movie even earlier. And I think that I should understand nothing in the movie if I didn't pay attention to the novel. In my opinion, this movie is for readers - those who know the plot.
