Night

If it's night on the same day. Can you say:

Today was a good day. OR it's gotta be:

Today is a good day.

Please pick one for me. Thanks.

'Today' was a good day' and 'Today has been a good day' are both possible. 'Today is a good day' is not very likely late in the day. Please avoid chatlish words such as 'gotta'.
