What do we call the column in newspapers in which job ads are place so one can apply for?
I appreciate any help in advance,

Generally, that part of the paper is called the "want ads".
I've also seen, "help wanted", "the classifieds", and plain old "employment."
It really depends upon the paper and, possibly, regional preferences.
