I think a good way to learn english is through english news, the titles of which are always both concise and informative.

If you google 'writing headlines', then you will find sites like [url=http://web.ku.edu/~edit/heads.html]THIS[/url].

But that said, headlines don't follow standard, conversational style. So I'm not sure I'd agree that headlines are a great way to learn English, even though the news stories themselves might be.
