"Mamma Mia!" is about to hit Moscow
The show containing ABBA's songs will be shown in Moscow.
The members of the legendary band ABBA - Benny Anderson and Byorn Ulveus are to present their own musical, called Mamma Mia! at Moscow's Youth Palace on Saturday, October 14. The show is said to be one of the most successful in the history of musical theatre. In total, it has brought around $1.7 billion to its creators. Alexei Kortnev, the band leader of "Nestchastniy sluchai" and a showman, was responsible for translating the musical into Russian.
The idea of creating a musical based on songs by famous Swedish band "ABBA" came to Judi Crayman over 10 years ago. The original play was written by Cathrine Johnson, the author of the world hits "..." and "...". Today's play was put on by the owner of an Emmy and the award by the Royal Philharmonic Society - Phillida Lloyd.
The world premier of "Mamma Mia!" took place at London's prestigous theatre of Prince Eduard in West End in 1999. Within 10 years, the play has been performed in 130 cities. An audience of over 27 million people have seen it whereas the profits constituted about $1.7 billion. Today the show is a leader by the number of productions being put on in different countries at the same time. This week Moscow will join 9 cities (London, New York, Hamburg, Las Vegas, Madrid, Osaka, Stockholm, Stutgart, and Antwerp where the musical is on all the time

As you can see, all of the paragraphs have been translated by me. The final one just seems to have got less work. I mean that when translating I generally try to make the translation seem more natural. J
