I moved the word of "located" in 4 ways and I think that meanings of them are the same. what do you native English speakers think and feel about it? Thank you so much as usual and I really hope to hear from you.

1) You probably should add 'City' after "New York" 2) It's usually written as "the USA". 3) The third one is wrong.

Do you mean "New York is the best city in the world, located on the east coast of The USA." is wrong?
But I thought "located on..." can be rewritten to "and it is located on the east coast of the USA." That's why all of them are the same, I think. Is there a reason why only the third one is wrong when it comes to the location of "located on..." Thank you.

1 ) New York, which is located on the east coast of The USA, is the best city in the world. OK

2 ) New York, located on the east coast of The USA, is the best city in the world. This is the same as #1, using a reduced clause instead of a full clause. The reduced clause is more common because it is more concise

Thank you and can I ask one more? Can we call 'located on...' participle construction instead of reduced clause as well? I think the form of "located" is a participle, but whatever term it is, that's fine, isn't it? Thank you!!

"located" has to follow "New York", not "the world".

AlpheccaStars,

The fact that the "reduced clause" can be moved to introduce the main clause tells me that it is in fact not a reduced clause but a participle phrase.

Which is Located on the east coast of The USA, New York is the best city in the world.

Thank you Aspara Gus, and I know what you mean and what I really want to know is if there is a meaning difference among them and I I have come to a conclusion: except for the third one, the meanings of the rest ones are the same. What do you think?

'Located ' ... is a non defining relative clause that gives information about 'New York' so it has to follow 'New York' , not ' the world'

I thought we can figure it out by context, wherever I put it but now I know which one is natural. Thank you.
