New York

My friend is in New York:

I say:

I don't know when I'm gonna come to New york anymore, it's been way too busy for me at work at home.

I don't know when I'm gonna go to New york anymore, it's been way too busy for me at work at home.

Are both ok?

No, neither is correct. I don't know when I'm going to come to New York, it's been way to busy at work and at home. gonna is incorrect.

  • No, neither is correct.
  • I don't know when I'm going to come to New York, it's been way to busy at work and at home.
  • gonna is incorrect.
  • anymore is incorrect (redundant).
  • "at work at home" is incorrect (unless you work at home- but even if you do, it's still incorrect because you would need to say something like "it's been way to busy working here at home).

Use go.

"come" means you are in New York when you said the sentence and you need to modify the sentence. (meaning will be different)

I don't know when I'm going to come to New York again,...

If you are speaking directly to your friend in NYC, say "I don't know when I'm going to come..."

If you are speaking to a third part about travelling to NYC, say "I don't know when I'm going to go..."

Does this help?

That's not correct.

"Come" does not indicate that the speaker is in NY - he could be anywhere.

Ok, I guess if you are in the presence of your friend talking directly to him/her or on streaming video, then using come is perfectly fine.

But doesn't it have the meaning of putting yourself in New York if you use come? When you talk to your friend directly, you are "in his or her presence" right?

Your friend resides in New York. (so your friend may or may not be in New York whe

I don't think there is a steadfast rule, and therefore what I am about to say is just my opionon,

But, if I were asked: "when will you come to New Y
