New York

Hello,

I'm currently in New York and looking for a job.

Native sentence?

Top answer

PreciousJones I'm currently in New York and looking for a job. It's fine, but many native speakers would not say "and" if the reason for being in New York was seeking employment. I'm currently in New York looking for a job.

Aside from A-star's comment, I'd say with "and", the question sentence is incorrect.
I am currently in N.Y. = the main clause. (looking for a a new job) = is a participle clause.

I am currently in N.Y. and I am looking for a new job. = compound sentence.
