If we want talk about two couples in the old film or old series..

Have we to say ?

They always looked so beautiful.

Or

They always was looking so beautiful.

Or

They always have looked so beautiful..

Or

They always was looked (as adj) so beautiful.


And why?


And if we will talk about new film which displays nowadays .. we should use same as we used with old film or we should use present tense?
