“New generation” as adjective?

Hi Everyone,

Could you, please, tell me whether we can use “new generation” as an adjective? For example,

a new generation device

Or do you say,

a new generational device ?

If neither, then what form do you put this expression in to get a correct phrase, please?

Thank you!

Your first example seems more common to me but I think it would be better if you hyphenate them like this : A new-generation device.
