When Polygram started to run their slide rule over Island Records they needed to know that U2 were going to support the new environment.
--- I understand that people from Polygram were checking if Island Records was financially stable and if it makes sense to take it over, however I'm not sure what "U2 were going to support new environment" means?
Maybe it says that guys from Polygram needed to know if guys from U2 will accept Polygram's new bosses, new management ... ???
