Please help me, Which one is correct and more pertinent
1) I couldn't find Sarra, nor did I know where she had gone
2) I couldn't find Sarra, neither did I know where she had gone

I couldn't find Sara , and I didn't know where she had gone.

I don't like to make things difficult but this question is a part of a quiz. You need to answer questions like these to become a teacher in our country ! So we agreed upon all questions and we debated over this one. Even experienced teachers had different views about this task.

Nor is correct here. It is a coordinating conjunction (like and, but, or).

The second is ok with a semicolon:
2) I couldn't find Sarra; neither did I know where she had gone.

Neither is a coordinating conjunction when used with nor. Neither, nor are correlative c
