Neither in two situations

Hi teachers,

please have a look at these 2 sentences and tell me if I wrote them correctly:

1. neither XXX is the right man for me
2. neither XXX nor XXX are the right men for me

Are these sentences correct? the first one stresses the fact there have been previous men before XXX . The second one, a comparison between two men.

Is it so?

Thank you for checking!
