He looked for some to have pity on him, but there was no man, neither found he any to comfort him.

Is this sentence grammatical in modern English?

I wouldn't say it is wrong, but it sounds very old-fashioned and biblical in style. If you go around talking to people in that style, they will find it odd and probably comical. eg When I went to the store, there was no milk, neither found I any bread.

It's grammatical in modern English, but completely unidiomatic. Nowadays we say

... man, and he didn't find any to comfort him, either.
