Hello, i am new here. Thanks for this forum. I am applying for a master's degree
in embedded system at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven and i would appreciate some advice about my motivation letter as i am not a native speaker. Can someone help me solve this problem. Here is my motivation letter.
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing to apply for the Master Degree program in Embedded Systems.
During the past four and a half years, I studied Electrical Engineering at , , with specialization in telecommunication and information (Telematics). The emphasis of my studies was understanding the fundamental electronic principles that govern modern day electronics and apply it into something that can help people. But I also learned about other diverse topics such as safety, economics, and industrial management. I am confident that the practical and educational profile that I acquired as well as a broad knowledge of computer programming combined with my knowledge in Electrical Engineering will be an advantages for my realization in Embedded Systems. I am also trusted as a laboratory lecturer for 3,5 years. As a laboratory lecturer i must not only understand about the subject, but also I must develop the knowledge that I have.
My motivation for choosing Embedded Systems are I like to learn about making something by combining hardware and software, and of course my basic education is in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Telematics which combined knowledge to make a device and controlling that device. Based on my observation I think Embedded Systems is very promising field.
I want to take my master program abroad because I want to take a chance to broadening my knowledge on Embedded Systems with an international certificate. The become my first choice because from my friend’s experience, The Netherlands is a very good place to study. With international environment, international study, international accreditation, and quality of university I think the is the best place to take my master program. The chance to meet people from all over the world will give me a valuable advantage to learn more about different cultures and give positive effect on my personality. The also have very friendly environment for student to study.
Technische Universiteit Eindhoven is the oldest technische universiteit in Netherlands. Of course to become exist until now, it needs a good quality management and good human resources. My lecturers in my last education also recommend Technische Universiteit Eindhoven to pursue my study in master degree. I also read several testimonials from my friends which study at The Netherlands, especially at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven which very recommend Technische Universiteit Eindhoven as a university to pursue my study in Master degree. Alumni of Technische Universiteit Eindhoven have a good competence in industry. The compulsory internship is very useful in turning your theoretical knowledge into practice. I also know that education and reality are different. But your program will allow me to accomplish both.
At the end semester of my master degree I want take smart home device application as my Master thesis topics. I’m interest in this topic because I like to design a system, and then assembling each device until it works. I’m interested in controlling device from far distance.
My aim is to work in an international field related to Embedded Systems. For next 5 years, I would like to work as leader of embedded systems design teams. Therefore I would like to gain a deeper theoretical knowledge in Embedded Systems and of course the practical skills. I believe a university with a high reputation like Technische Universiteit Eindhoven is the best place to achieve my career objectives.
I’ve done my bachelor study by making Online Cinema System Using Video Streaming Technique as my thesis work. It takes 4 credits and I’ve got grade ‘A’ on my thesis work. Summary of my thesis work is attached after this document.
Thank you very much for considering my request. I am looking forward to your positive response. It would be a valuable opportunity to study at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven.
Yours sincerely,
Heru Yuri Rori
