Need your help with few sentences!!!

For a book, I need to correct the quotes

Quote 1
"The bus was driving my lane. He was skimping my lane." she said exasperated, mad that she had collided with the bus.

Is it possible to skimp a lane?

Quote 2
"You really don't know how to eat properly. Do you know how to hold a fork?" she asked inquisitively.

What does this mean "You really don't know how to eat properly" What does it imply?

Quote 3
"We are both the same rank level in the company. He just got a better starting salary", he said trying to justify himself.

I am wondering whether rank or level are the best words to use.

Thanks for your help
