Need your help. Thanks.

Dear all,

I have two questions. Please help me with them.

1. I am not sure the following sentece, so I rewrite it. Coudl you help me check it? Thanks.

Original sentence: Christmas isn't about decorations, or gifts, or food, as wonderful though these things are.

Revised sentence: Christmas isn't about decorations, or gifts, or food even though these things are wonderful.

2. Children delight in their new toys and the magic of the moment on Christmas.

I don't know the exact meaning of the words in bold. Does it mean that at that moment children enjoy opening gifts or taking gifts out from socks. Or are there other explanations? Thanks again.
