Need writing correction

Hi,

Can you, please, tell me what are the mistakes I made in the following text, especially about the use of the tenses and the use of the adverbs:

"I was walking in the street, I saw a man before me, he was very tall but thin.
After I met two children, a boy and a girl.
The girl was short and the boy was tall for someone of his age, he looked like a teenager.
After, I saw my neighbour, she is a fat woman, her husband is a man incredibly thin, they have opposite appearances.
A little later, I saw myself in a showcase, I am an ordinary man with a medium physical appearence".

Thank you very much for your correction. If you need help for French, don't hesitate to send me a message.
Have a good day.

Thank you Clive.

By "showcase", I mean "shop window".
I don't understand the difference between "after" and "afterwards"
See you.

Hi,

'Afterwards' is a very, very common word, and is often not known by learners of English.
Let me illustrate with simple examples.

Context
6pm I phoned Tom.

Thank you for your reply.

I try to make a few sentences:

1) I got up. Afterwards, I had my breakfast(After I got up, I had my breakfast).

2) I worked all day long. Afterwards, I came back home(After I worked all day long, I came back home).

3) I filled the tank of my car. Afterwards, I drove to London(After I filled the tank of my car, I drove to London).

Thank you clive.

Is it better to say : "After I filled the tank of my car, I drove to London." or
"After I had filled the tank of my car, I drove to London." ?

Hi,

Both are
OK. When the sequence of events is clear (eg when you say 'after'), the Past Perfect is often not used.
