Need to put commas?

Hi. Do we need to put a comma before the words "because" and "since" here? Thank you in advance for your help.

If he does it, I think he won't be successful (a comma here?) because he isn't ready.
If he starts it, I think it won't be easy to finish it (a comma here?) since he isn't hardly here.

If he does it, I don't think he'll be successful (, ) because he isn't ready. If he starts it, I don't think it will be easy to finish (,) since he is hardly here. The commas are arbitrary; you will find arguments both for and against.

  • I'd use them.
